Alta-Aurelia boys beat St. Mary’s

The Alta-Aurelia boys’ basketball team had a mixed bag last week with three games.

The squad was up against a hot-shooting squad of Southeast Valley (SV), who downed the Warriors 80-54, for a Twin Lakes Conference (TLC) loss Jan. 8. The Warriors beat Storm Lake St. Mary’s (SM), 66-27, Jan. 14.

Southeast Valley

Anthony Krier led the Warriors with 22 points; Trey Engelmann and Teagan Meyer tallied 10 points each. Logan McCoy and Preston McCoy scored five points each, and Brian Chase had two points.

For rebounds, Logan McCoy led with seven, while Krier had six. Preston McCoy and Engelmann had four each, Meyer and Chase two each and Tanner Randall one.

Preston McCoy had four assists, Krier had two; Engelmann and Chase had one each. Engelmann and Meyer had one steal each.

The Warriors kept it close early, trailing 13-10 after one quarter. SV led 34-23 at halftime and 63-38 after three quarters.
