Alta-Aurelia continues school transition tasks

Alta-Aurelia Community School District School Board of Directors transition members met to discuss the 400 policy series  Nov. 21 in Aurelia. All seven members of the transition board were present.

After a 50-minute review of the policy series in small groups, recommendations were made to Superintendent Lynn Evans, who is superintendent for the transition district as well. The Alta-Aurelia Community School District officially begins July 1, 2018. Brad Rohwer is president of the transitional board.

“I see this as critical to get started on day one. There are a lot of different ways to review policies and, sometimes, districts just pick one of their schools’ policies, but  I wanted more thought put into it,” said Evans.

Evans said any differences between the two school district policies were minimal and only for language or terms.
