Artwork showcases eighth graders’ talents

Alta-Aurelia Middle School in Aurelia eighth graders, after comparing and contrasting two types of installation artworks, Earth art and environmental art, were challenged with the task of creating an installation art project somewhere on the school property, said art teacher Elizabeth Petersen.

“As a class, they brainstormed locations, materials and meanings. They decided to create the piece entitled ‘The Stream of Life.’ Before creating this artwork, the students set up a meeting with Principal Jeannie Henningsen, pitched the idea and got permission to proceed.”
