A-A boys split league games

The Alta-Aurelia boys’ basketball team had an up and down week with a lopsided win in Twin Lakes Conference (TLC) play, a TLC loss and an overtime loss to a rival to finish the week 10-4.

The Warriors began with a 45-41 loss to South Central Calhoun (SCC) Jan. 11, beat G-T/R-A, 76-39, Jan. 15 but lost to Cherokee, 57-55, in overtime Jan. 17.


The Braves and the Warriors battled into overtime before the visitors came up with a 57-55 win. Tyler Hanks scored 24 points to lead the Warriors, while Aric Stephan had 10 and Anthony Krier had eight.

The Warriors led 32-22 at halftime, but the Braves caught them with a 18-7 run into the fourth quarter.
