Bulldogs had their glory days in football in 2001

With Valor Field taking center stage with all Alta-Aurelia home football games this year, one may be tempted to reflect on past success at the Aurelia football field. The first homecoming game in 11 years will be played there Sept. 14 when the Bulldogs take on Pocahontas Area with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Former Bulldogs head coach Myron Radke, who guided the team from 1973-79 and 1990-2008, did just that recently. The Bulldogs reached the 2001 eight-player championship contest, falling to Adair-Casey, 54-30, for an 8-2 season.
