In Cherokee County— Petersen, Glienke, Scott win Republican races for district two supervisor, auditor, sheriff seats

According to unofficial election results from Cherokee, Bryan Petersen of Cherokee will be the Republican candidate for the District 2 supervisor seat in the Nov. 3 General Election. Petersen (R) defeated Don Drefke (R) of Marcus, 1,593 votes to 852 votes.
Democrat Linda Bindner of Marcus received 418 votes for the District 2 seat and will run against Petersen in November.
Incumbent Auditor Kris Glienke of Aurelia defeated Stephanie Thill of Cherokee. Glienke received 1,585 votes to Thill’s 1,148 votes. There were 92 write-in votes for the Democratic Party.
In the sheriff’s race, Derek Scott of Cherokee defeated fellow Republicans Steve Schuck of Cherokee and Michael McDonald of Marcus. Scott collected 1,763 votes to Schuck’s 683 votes and McDonald’s 340 votes. There were 148 write-in votes for the Democratic Party.
