Cherokee County deputy fired after dog incident

One Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputy’s job was terminated following an internal affairs investigation concluded Sept. 4.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jerrod Clyde released the following statement on the firing of Deputy Alec Wolf.

“On Aug. 10, an unfortunate incident occurred involving Deputy Wolf and a dog. The dog involved attacked two other dogs, killing one of them on Aug. 9. After numerous attempts to catch the dog with a dog catcher pole for two days, the dog was ordered to be shot, as long as it was not in the city limits of Cleghorn, and it was not at the property of 784 Highway 3 of rural Cleghorn."
