Cherokee County Supervisors discuss engineer staffer, fireworks law

The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors discussed and approved a recommendation from secondary roads enginer Brandon Billings to add a staff member during its meting April 3. The supervisors also discussed a potential fireworks ordinance.

Following direction from the supervisors, Billings said he will begin to advertise for the new position.

“The new person will be working with the wind turbine project near Marcus and also enable our office to work more efficiently. It will save a lot of hassle adding another person. The wind turbine project could pay for some of that person’s salary,” said Billings.

“If you get someone with a lot of experience, could we also add the zoning administrator to it?” asked supervisor Gary Lundquist.
