Evans explains weather closing steps

One more day of school was canceled due to the winter weather Feb. 7.

Alta-Aurelia Superintendent Lynn Evans explained the district’s policies and procedures in making decisions on late starts, early dismissal and snow days.

“The superintendent is responsible for decisions affecting transportation and school closings during inclement weather. The transportation director assists with those decisions. In the event the superintendent and-or transportation director is unavailable, building principals are designated to make those calls,” said Evans.

Evans said he likes to be out at 4:45 a.m.
