Fair board seeks $15,000 budget increase

The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Jan. 30.

Topics covered included various budget line items for the fiscal year 2018-19 budget, a U.S. 20 Highway update and a wage authorization.

In budget talks, supervisors discussed their support for the Cherokee County Fair Board, which is seeking an increase from $25,000 to $40,000.

Supervisor Duane Mummert said the financial increase should be justified for 4-H purposes.
