Noel Nelson

Noel Wynn Nelson, 79, of Bullhead City, Ariz., formerly of Aurelia, died at his home on June 22, 2019, as a result of an ulcerated colon. A memorial service was held on the Holland America Cruise Ship Zuiderdam by his surviving siblings. A private inurnment service was held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia.
Noel was born on Jan. 25, 1940, the son of Wesley and Esther (Rolfs) Nelson. He graduated from Aurelia High School in 1958. After graduation he attended the Dunwoody Technical Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., where he studied to become an automotive mechanic. He worked a number of years as a mechanic in the Minneapolis area where he met and married Anne Theona Moen in 1965.
He and Anne lived in Minneapolis for several years, both working at FMC Corporation and participating in his hobby of stock car racing.  After a severe winter and a visit to his brother Carroll in Arizona the previous July, they moved to the Phoenix area in 1971.
Noel worked for various pool builders and late in his career formed his own company. After retirement he moved to the Laughlin-Bullhead City area.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Carroll Nelson and Craig Nelson.
Noel is survived by siblings Mary Ann Ettinger of New Haven, Conn., Larry Nelson of Kirkwood, Mo., David Nelson of Nevada City, Calif., Marcia White of Middleboro, Mass., Gretta and husband Fred Earnest of Merriam, Kan., his ex-wife, Anne Colis of Casa Grande, Ariz., and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
