A-A school board, teachers begin talks

The Alta-Aurelia Education Association (A-AEA) and the Alta-Aurelia School Board met for the public exchange of negotiations for the 2019-20 contract Feb. 1.

The A-AEA proposes a $2,100 increase for all staff members covered under the master contract. This will reflect a 4.59 percent base wage increase, a total package increase of $169,322, or 3.82 percent. The total, without benefits of FICA and IPERS, is $4,010,800.

FICA is expected to have a 7.65 percent increase and IPERS, 9.44 percent.
