Supervisors weigh assessment reaction

Cherokee County Board of Supervisors heard a presentation on the 2018 Real Estate Assessment Roll from Assessor Greg Zarr at its Feb. 27 meeting.

“Our phones lit up when the assessment rolls went out,” said supervisor Rick Mongan.

Zarr explained assessments are being done for all industrial, residential and commercial properties in Cherokee County.

“Some have gone up quite a bit, while others have stayed the same and others have gone down. There is a Board of Review appeal process in April that the state legislature has put in, and the Board of Review hearings are in May,” said Zarr.
