Warrior boys win one of three tilts

Alta-Aurelia boys’ basketball team held off Woodbury Central for its second win of the season Dec. 14 in a non-conference game. The Warriors fell to Pocahontas Area 79-64 in Twin Lakes Conference game Dec. 13.

The boys lost to Kingsley-Pierson, 55-50, in non-conference play Dec. 16. The Warriors were 2-4.

Woodbury Central

A-AHS led 13-12 after one quarter, 31-25 at halftime and 48-47 after three quarters.

Three Warriors led the offense in double figure scoring. The Warriors made 22 of 44 field goal attempts.

Anthony Krier led the Warriors with 22 points against the Wildcats in Moville. He made eight of 13 field goals, one three-pointer and five of eight free-throw attempts. He had five rebounds and four assists.

Gabe Walters tallied 16 points on five field goals, two three-point baskets, four of four free throws, 10 rebounds and three steals.

Trey Engelmann had 13 points on three field goals, seven of nine free throw attempts, seven rebounds, three steals and one assist.
