Warrior girls gain second victory

The Alta-Aurelia girls’ basketball team battled Southeast Valley (SV) as the Warriors tried for their second straight Twin Lakes Conference win Jan. 10. The Warriors fell to Storm Lake St. Mary’s, 43-30, Jan. 14.

The Warriors improved to 2-9 as they won, 47-39.

Jenna Neilsen led with 15 points and even rebounds. Chloe Kruger had 13 points, six rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block.

Kirsten Ryherd had nine points, three steals and two rebounds. Alaina Westphal had six points, seven rebounds and two steals.

Shea Peterson had two points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Sierra Hill had two points.

“Another outstanding game for the Lady Warriors, especially in rebounding,” said Coach Adam Rapp. “We were able to capture the second win of the season.

“Defensively, we’re close to where we want to be. Offensively, we have come a long way in the last couple of weeks but still have work to do,” said Rapp.
