Warriors even record with win

The Alta-Aurelia football team enters Class A, district two play with a 2-2 record after a 28-6 win over Pocahontas Area (PA) Sept. 20.

The Warriors scored 28 straight points after the Indians struck first. Michael Ryherd blocked PA’s point after touchdown try.

A-A took the lead for good as a 50-yard drive was capped on an 11-yard pass from running back Anthony Krier to quarterback Logan McCoy. Krier booted the PAT for a 7-6 lead with 4:30 left in the first quarter.

It stayed a one-point game until Krier struck again. He returned a Pocahontas Area punt 74 yards for a touchdown and booted the point after touchdown for a 14-6 lead with six minutes left in the third quarter.
