Warriors suffer first loss to Sioux Central

Alta-Aurelia boys’ basketball team traveled to Sioux Rapids to face Sioux Central’s Rebels in the second Twin Lakes Conference game Dec. 4.

The contest was defensive-minded for three quarters with each team limited to single digits. The host Rebels had more firepower in the end with a 26-17 finish for a 47-36 victory. A-A was 2-1 after the loss.

“I thought our guys executed the game plan very well. It was a little different than we typically plan but well-executed. We wanted to slow these guys down and control the pace. We stalled for three quarters and it went very well. We played some good post defense against their three big post players,” said A-A head coach Evan Franzmeier.
